| Once upon a time, not so long ago and under this 21st century sky, two girls got to know each other.
Distance, circumstances and opportunities separated them but they had that personal connection which would trump all those differences. When one became ill with AIDS, naturally, the other friend wanted to help with raising money for the medication. With all her personal connections and also by mobilising an even larger network through social media, she GOT IT DONE pretty damn quickly. No middlemen were needed. Just connection, action and results. This vision sparked the Cheruto Foundation, a non-profit start-up registered in the Netherlands. GET IT DONE is a concept of the Cheruto Foundation. |

Desiree Immerzeel
Project Leader (volunteer)
Desirée is a PhD researcher who got involved with Get It Done to tone down her "nerdiness." During her travels abroad, she was inspired by working with development organizations and decided to make her own little contribution towards making the world a better place. As Project Leader, she supports the projects team through the whole Get It Done experience, and is particularly skilled at hustling for funds to get these projects done!
Lucie Mayer-Aull
Projects Manager
We love Lucie! Originally a lawyer from London, she moved to Amsterdam four years ago when her husband took a 'temporary' posting in the Amsterdam office - needless to say, the 'temporary' status slowly morphed into a 'permanent' status as we fell in love with Amsterdam and have made it our indefinite home. With a background at the International Criminal Court, Lucie is very interested and enthusiastic about any projects which focus on the fragile states that have been involved in civil war and the related horrors which go hand in hand with that. She finds Get It Done to be fresh, funky and believes its the future in development aid. Her energy and positivity are contagious and its always a good day in the office when Lucie is around!
Hanna Verboom
Board – Founder, Identity team member (volunteer)
This is Hanna, an actor, storyteller and self-proclaimed karaoke-expert whose personal story sparked the creation of GET IT DONE (a concept of the Cheruto Foundation). She believes life is all about maximizing your potential and the potential of the people around you. “Maximizing the world’s potential together with my friends from GET IT DONE is what excites me tremendously. We've rapidly become a family of hardworking passionate volunteers. Let's get that equality DONE!”
Leon Labruyere
Operations - Finance (board)
Leon is owner and director of a trusted accountancy-firm in Rotterdam. He joined Get It Done in 2008, offering his expert advice in financial, legal and tax-related matters. The idea of offering aid to other human beings through an online-platform tickled Leons' fancy and he has been with Get It Done ever since! He is a skilled financial advisor, highly reliable and worth his weight in gold.
Eva Spierings
Identity Team Intern
I am in my 3rd year studying Communication and Media Design. I live for snowboarding, surfing, going out with friends, visiting festivals in summer, sleeping late, turning the music up and singing out loud when nobody can hear me! I enjoy the little things in life by living in the moment. I like the way GET IT DONE makes development aid personal again and focuses on a positive way to get it (the job) done together. I think that’s what helping others was and always will be about! I like the projects for children that have a creative aspect. I think people underestimate how any kind of art/expressing yourself can help someone in many ways. I hope to contribute to make GET IT DONE an even stronger brand, by telling the world how GID thinks, works, and most of all acts.
Lotte van der Hart
Intern Identity team
Hi, my name is Lotte van der Hart I’m 20 years old and I live in Amsterdam. I’m a student at Communication and Media design in Utrecht (3rd year!). I love going to theatre, movies and beautiful spots all over the world. I’m out of work at the moment because I will be a GET IT DONE-intern for the upcoming five months ☺ During my study I’ve realized I don’t like the whole commercial side of communication and media. I’ts all about money money money… So when I heard about getting an internship starting in February I went searching for non-profit organizations. I recognized GET IT DONE from the givashit areas at the Parade in Amsterdam. I like the concept of GET IT DONE. It’s a side of charity I had never heard of: a modern platform that gives you the opportunity to raise money for your own project by using your own friends/network. I’m going to be a part of the identity team. I will be working on the branding of GID and GIVASHIT. I’m looking forward to be a part of this lovely team and GET IT DONE!
Enko Dijkstra
Project Coach
Enko is our youngest and perhaps most passionate volunteer! A student of Economics, a keen sportsman and an ambitious 'do-gooder', Enko has aspirations to give something back to the world and he's found himself in the right place! This one wouldn't rest until he had joined us onboard the GET IT DONE rollercoaster, we're mighty pleased to welcome him with open arms!
